Take It Easy Chicken 7″ promo

The very first and one of the rarest Mansun (then titled Manson) vinyl items to find. The original Take It Easy Chicken promo 7″. It comes in a plain white sleeve with silver label .

Released in 1995 , only a ‘handful’ of these were produced. As Mansun were not signed to any label at this time , the record was self-released and simply states ‘Manson Promo’.

The record plays the same track (Take It Easy Chicken ) on both sides.

Matrix / Runout (Side A runout, stamped / etched): A-1-1-Q1 MANSON

Matrix / Runout (Side B runout, stamped / etched): B-1-1- Q1 MANSON

I have two copies of this promo , one was originally Paul Draper’s own copy and the second I purchased from a German seller on Discogs website.

  1. Hi

Do you know how many were made? I have a copy bought off ebay 15yrs ago and never seen another for sale.

  2. Hi Edward,
that’s an interesting question because i heard it was only a handful . Must have been a large hand as i have two , you have one and i know about six other fans who have a copy too.
I really don’t know the accurate answer though.
A lot of people think the yellow ‘Chicken’ 7″ is rare but i think that was either 1000 or 500 and easy to get hold of.
    Thanks for getting in touch!
